Imam Syafi'i mengingatkan kepada kita:
Engkau tidak akan pernah mampu menyenangkan semua orang. Seberapa baik pun dirimu, akan selalu ada yang tidak menyukai, tidak memahami, bahkan menilaimu dengan cara yang tidak sesuai dengan kenyataan.
Karena itu, jangan habiskan hidup hanya untuk mengejar pujian manusia atau merasa sedih karena penilaian mereka. Hati manusia mudah berubah, sedangkan ridha Allah adalah tujuan yang lebih layak untuk diperjuangkan.
