A huge thank you to Scottish writer Graeme Armstrong (The Young Team) for joining us today & delivering an impactful talk on Scottish gang culture, social history, & personal resilience to 200 pupils. His lived insights on trauma, aspiration & youth culture certainly resonated!!
Happy Diwali! Members of our Cultural Connections committee have been delivering sessions to S1 classes this week. These sessions are a fantastic way to build cultural awareness and create a more connected, understanding school environment. @Linlithgow_Acad
Thank you to the staff and pupils @Linlithgow_Acad for discussing all things children’s human rights with us today.
We loved hearing about the pupil-led staff training on rights. And we ❤️ the accessible Wellbeing Baskets all around the school.
Finishing off Challenge Poverty Week with a non-uniform day organised by the Equity Committee for @wlfoodbank. Great to see so many pupils supporting this cause. @Linlithgow_Acad
@Linlithgow_Acad@CPW_Scotland They also explained the PEF participatory budget and gave pupils the opportunity to vote on how that budget should be spent this year.
Pupils from our Equity Committee have been delivering assemblies to their peers. They have been sharing information on the cost of the school day, the impact of poverty on education, and support available at Linlithgow Academy. @Linlithgow_Acad@CPW_Scotland
So nice to have @ComJusScot in again to talk to our Higher pupils about community payback orders as part of their Morality & Justice unit. @LAHumanities_

A great wee note taking activity inspired by @CatHSHumanities. Higher pupils are currently looking at how compatible religious and scientific explanations for the origins of the universe are. 5 key points, with icons to aid recall and support dual coding.
