The Cabinet Office has announced a review into the treatment of LGBT veterans who were dismissed or jailed because of their sexuality before the law was changed in 2000.
RAF veteran Dr Carl Austin-Behan, who was dismissed for his sexuality, recalls his experience.

22 years ago today the ‘gay ban’ was lifted, through the courage and tenacity of ‘Rank Outsiders’. Our Armed Forces became best in the world at inclusion - but our #lgbtveterans have been left behind. There must be apology and reparations for them. @VeteransGovUK@LeoDochertyUK
