A follow-up on the Flau'jae Johnson trade, via me and @ramonashelburne:
After 5 p.m. ET on Sunday, teams could not trade picks until after the selections were executed on draft day.
Sources told ESPN Golden State and Seattle spoke pre-draft about a potential trade framework but the deal wasn't agreed to until Golden State was on the clock with the No. 8 selection. Golden State made the decision to trade down to the second round after the players they were eyeing to draft were taken earlier in the first round.
Seattle instructed Golden State to pick Johnson, and later at No. 16, Golden State instructed Seattle to select Marta Suárez.
