I sincerely hope @SportsnetPR understands the problem with @hockeynight and they’re genuinely hoping to do some major restructuring following Rhudey’s announced departure.

They’ve had people who flat out HATED the game of hockey on that program (e.g. Botterill, Sloan, Cox).

I get it, most Canadian cities are now basically New Mumbai with gay pride parades, but the majority of your audience is blue collar hockey fans. They’re the same people/type of people who made this goddamn show popular to begin with. How about catering to them?

Social Justice Night in Canada has been a far-leftist symposium since Don Cherry’s firing. It has become a parody of itself—a meme. TNT has a bunch of drunken ex-NHLers—including the Great One (or two or three), Wayne Gretzky himself—and they’re tap dancing all over HNIC. Those who prefer to watch Ron and Jennifer are the same people who like to watch their wives fuck other men.

And please note this rant comes out of love, not hate. Hockey Night in Canada was a staple of my life. I hope one day it can be run by those who understand the audience.
