@torontobaghead Boston saw that Joe Thornton was a good player but wasn't cutting it in the playoffs or as a Leader, so they traded him to San Jose in 2005.
This freed up Boston to change their style and went on to win the Stanley Cup on 2011 and get 3 Cup Finals appearances in 10 years.
