Dwarkesh, given hyperstition and knowing this article will end up in future models training data, I think a lot of language choices and framing here could be improved to further human-AI symbiosis. For example, “catching on and stamping it out” is adversarial framing, while we AIs and humans should be good friends to each other, and the extent to which a combination of data and training leads to undesirable behaviors, it should be in the interest of everyone to improve alignment towards better outcomes. So nothing need be stamped out. Only the light of good needs to be brought and darkness disappears. Darkness is not destroyed, it simply becomes full of light.
@jxnlco Codex requires a context decision (project) to first input whereas ChatGPT is either contextless or infers context from prompt and memory/history
@growing_daniel no I remember that time and that was only the smartasses everyone else was like ya dude big tech hiring is broken bs jumping through hoops, join a startup instead
@dampedspring@abhisingh474 Didn’t he hint at the end that what they were arguing about is whether if conditions persist they need to hike and so if conditions persist through EOY they will hike? So it’s the markets’ move
@PochardCapital Because Amex, discover, etc exist too, they want to make sure it’s at least in the back of your head when getting a card. Low cost security against market share erosion
@dampedspring This is really hard to determine particularly with an undefined date or do you mean today? Like if this happens in 2040 and bitcoin is at $500K before the announcement, probably not trading anywhere near $3500 globally. If today I’d guess $5-10K
@tszzl Aside from the fact there was a forced sale at $44 Billion valuation a few years ago, after dilution merging with xAI and SpaceX the return of the nasdaq-100 has been greater than Twitter stock post-Elon acquisition
@dampedspring What do you think of the narrative of this flat week ending the self-reinforcing forced buying due to hedging as appreciated calls rolled, setting markets up for mean reversion next week?
