Anthropologist Margaret Mead was once asked by a student what she believed was the very first sign of known civilization. The student expected her to talk about a hatchet, perhaps fishhooks, the bow and arrow...

Possibly a building structure, clay pots or grinding stones and knives.

But no.

Mead said that the first sign of civilization in an ancient culture was a thighbone that had been broken and then healed.

Mead explained that in the animal kingdom, if you break your leg, your timely death is assured.

"You cannot run from danger, get to the river for a drink or hunt for food. You are meat for prowling beasts. No animal survives a broken leg long enough for the bone to heal."

A broken thighbone that has healed is evidence that someone has taken time to stay with the one who fell, has bound up the wound, has carried the person to safety and has tended the person through recovery.

"Helping someone else through difficulty is where civilization starts." Mead said.

We are at our very best when we truly help and serve others.

The Project Sunrise @Airbus A350-1000ULR has touched down in Toulouse, France after completing a 24 hour 24 minute non-stop flight from Melbourne, Australia.

The aircraft flew northeast over the Pacific, over the US and Canada, then across the Atlantic and south over the UK to Toulouse, crossing three continents and two oceans, with two sunsets and two sunrises along the way.

Sergeant Reckless was a horse who served with the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. She could carry ammunition across the battlefield on her own without a handler, instinctively took cover during enemy fire, and earned two Purple Hearts for her remarkable service and bravery.

Purchased in South Korea for $250 in 1952, Sergeant Reckless was originally trained as a racehorse before the U.S. Marines bought her to transport ammunition. She quickly memorized supply routes, often making trips alone, instinctively taking cover during artillery fire, and even helping evacuate wounded Marines.

During the Battle of Outpost Vegas in March 1953, Reckless made 51 trips in a single day, carrying more than 9,000 pounds (4,100 kg) of ammunition over roughly 35 miles (56 km), much of it under intense enemy fire. Although wounded twice, she continued her missions without stopping.

The Marines treated Reckless as one of their own. She slept in their tents, ate alongside the men, and became famous for her unusual appetite, enjoying everything from scrambled eggs, bacon, candy bars, beer, and Coca-Cola to poker chips and even blankets.

After the war, Reckless was brought to the United States, where she received multiple promotions, eventually reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. Awarded two Purple Hearts, the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, the Korean Service Medal with three bronze service stars, the United Nations Korea Medal, and many other honors, she remains one of the most decorated animals in U.S. military history.

A Kenyan court has rejected Zenka Digital's 438% annual interest rate on a digital loan, calling it unfair and excessive.

🚨 BREAKING: A Boeing 737-400 freighter has gone missing in the Indian Ocean, just past the Gulf of Oman, after taking off from the UAE

Flight tracking data shows an EXTREMELY rapid descent, dropping approximately 35,000 feet in less than 2 minutes, before disappearing from radar entirely.

Pray for the souls on board. A search and rescue operation has been launched.

It's not currently known what would have brought down the plane.

The K2 Airways cargo plane (AP-BOI) was reportedly en route to Karachi, Pakistan.
