Queer disabled people have been begging for Pride to be accessible for decades. Pride is supposed to be inclusionary. By excluding high risk and disabled people, you're excluding a group that you can join at any time. Disability is interconnected to everything. Please include us.
At just 13 years old, Alena Analeigh McQuarter made history as the youngest Black student ever accepted into a U.S. medical school.
Now 17, this brilliant young queen has already graduated high school at 12, earned a Master’s degree, interned at NASA, founded The Brown STEM Girl to inspire other girls of color, and continues blazing trails in medicine and science.
Her journey is living proof that when purpose, discipline, and brilliance collide, nothing can hold you back not even age.
The future is in incredible hands! 👏🏽
He died defending his partner after his house was burned down and his dog was murdered.
His partner is a trans man.
Jonathan should still be here, at home, with his family.
But im told that we dont need pride.
This is really bad and defacto ID verification for the internet. It will enable mass surveillance and censorship at a time when LGBTQ ppl, immigrants, activists, journalists and whistleblowers are under attack. Not to mention cutting kids off from crucial lifelines
Queer History Fact: during the AIDS crisis, many lesbians became frontline caregivers and activists for gay and bi men when society and institutions abandoned them. Their leadership and solidarity are part of why the ‘L’ now comes first in LGBTQIA+.
So Mississippi just introduced a copycat law of the Tennessee trans ID law, but with the addition that any cop that sees ur ID doesnt match ur natal sex has to report you to FUCKING ICE
Let me trace the timeline here because nobody's connecting it.
Step 1: Scrape the entire internet. Every book, every article, every conversation, every piece of art, every forum post. Do it without asking. Do it without paying.
Step 2: Train a model on all of it. Call it "artificial intelligence."
Step 3: Go to BlackRock's Infrastructure Summit and announce: "We see a future where intelligence is a utility, like electricity or water, and people buy it from us on a meter."
Step 3 is where you sell people's own knowledge back to them. On a meter.
They took the collective output of human thought, compressed it into a model, and now they want to charge you by the token to access a version of what you and everyone you know already created.
One Reddit user put it perfectly: "They stole all this data from us, the people, our life's work, creativity, art, by devouring the internet and blowing through all copyright laws. Now they want to sell it back to us in the form of a utility."
Imagine if someone photocopied every book in the public library, burned the library down, and then opened a subscription service for the copies.
That's the metered intelligence business model.
And they're pitching it to infrastructure investors as though they invented water.
With everything we are hearing right now about ticks this seems like good information to share.
“Here’s what I’ve learned after more ticks than I care to count.
First, whatever your uncle told you, forget it. No matches. No nail polish. No Vaseline. No soap on a cotton ball. All of those do the same terrible thing, they stress the tick out, and a stressed tick empties its gut back into the bite before letting go. Which, if you think about what that actually means for a second, is literally how Lyme and the rest get transmitted so you’re not speeding up its exit. You’re making it throw up into you.
Fine-tipped tweezers. Grip right where the mouthparts enter the skin, not the body, the head. Pull straight up, steady, no twisting, no jerking. It’ll feel like it’s resisting because it is, the mouthparts are barbed. Just keep the pressure on and it lets go in a few seconds. If a piece breaks off in the skin, leave it alone. Your body pushes splinters out. Digging around with a needle does more damage then the fragment ever would.
Clean it with alcohol or soap. Wash your hands.
Now here’s the part most people skip: don’t flush the tick.
Tape it to an index card. Clear packing tape right over the body, write the date and where on your body it was, and stick the card in a drawer. If you come down with anything weird in the next 30 days, rash, fever, joint pain, that flu-that-isn’t-flu feeling, that tick goes with you to the doctor. Some labs will test the tick itself, which is faster and often more reliable than waiting for antibodies to show up in your own blood. A dated tick taped to a card is one of the most useful things you can hand a doctor who’s trying to figure out what’s wrong with you.
The other thing worth saying out loud: if the tick was engorged when you pulled it, and you can’t swear it was off your body within 24 hours, call your doctor that same day. Don’t wait for a rash. Fewer than three out of four Lyme cases even produce the classic bullseye. A single preventive dose of doxycycline within 72 hours of a deer tick bite cuts the Lyme odds way down, and most docs in tick country will write that prescription without giving you a hard time, especially if you walk in with the tick taped to a card and a clear timeline.”
Young people are always told what not to do. But what should you do?
Did you know that most public libraries have a Nintendo Switch to use? That parks show free movies at night? That there's a map of pickup basketball games?
https://t.co/Nb8rOAGO4T is a map of free and affordable things to do this summer that we made just for you.
Because public programs mean nothing if you don't know how to access them.
🚨 do you understand what happened to your right to protest..
The FBI just invented a new domestic extremism category called "anti-tech violent extremism" - and it doesn't exist in any public document.
WIRED got 1000+ leaked pages proving they're already using it to track AI critics and data center protesters.
What the leak exposed:
- Photographing a data center is now officially "suspicious behavior" in Virginia
- Fusion centers are surveilling town halls where residents complain about water
- 61% of Americans believe AI will destroy more jobs than it creates
- Even Marjorie Taylor Greene snapped: "how dare the peasants complain"
They built a new extremist category for you before they told you it exists.
Long time no see !! But we come with exicting news that we are opening art team applications !
We'd love the fresh set of skills onto our team ! 🎨🖌️
