Research Services Consultant @UoLDWL. Tweeting research metrics, Open Access, higher ed and non-work interests when I have the time! Views are all my own.
Really like this take on teaching #scholcomms. My #lis service hip-hop star Drake, who's yours? "Hip-Hop librarianship for scholarly communication"" on @humcommons CORE https://t.co/Po26e3ZQZ6
This always happens at #lrsgmidlands so much chat that I forget to tweet! Gr8 presentations 2dy on open journal systems, drivers & challenges of setting up university presses, & an appetite for collaboration across Unis.
Talking about advocacy materials that have worked well: novelty freebies (furry sticky bugs), induction passports, 121 sessions focussing on digital identity for career progression #orcid_uk
Really useful presentation from @karenanya at Reading showing how to find the info we want to know about ORCiD at our institutions. Thank you! #orcid_uk
The #orcid_uk self-service system is a handy place to store all your institutional PIDs. I just added Leicester's GRID to our profile (grid.9918.9). Very easy to find it from GRID release 2019-02-17 https://t.co/bG4r0VNDxF via @figshare
ORCiDs need nurturing! Enabling read/write for the repository is a win-win. Win for researchers: their ORCiD is populated automatically. Win for library: researchers are incentivised to deposit in their IR. #orcid_uk
I'm at the #orcid_uk Members Day today. Looking forward to seeing the different integrations happening and be inspired around how we should be using ORCiD at Leicester.
@EstherArens@altmetric Weds was a gd day all round by the looks of things @EstherArens! Will be rolling out more @altmetric training thru the @LeicesterDocCol 2019/20 training programme
@LaurianW Data, citations and metadata combined. This is interesting! The metadata technicalities are over my head tho. Views from cat and meta wizards would be useful I reckon.
So many reasons why I loved listening to this! A childhood household name, location a stone's throw from my old flat, collections from my old workplace @LSELibrary, words from my dear old friend & colleague #lessoftheold@EconomicCurator xoxo https://t.co/cVc252YH38
#lasticCPD Another good post here, addressing some #openaccess & #openscience issues head on. Sounds like a great model imo. "Wellcome Open Research, the future of scholarly communication?" https://t.co/IJMWxgeD0G
#lasticCPD last one today. Really interesting perspectives on university funding, fees, grants, recent history of #highered in the UK. The not-so-public sector that I work in. https://t.co/5Fz7Fj9Clk
