@hijaylynn_ i haven’t gotten very far yet honestly! i think it’s hard to judge bc i’m a lil biased towards the original structure, but i think it’s just a fun addition for when you beat the game as its originally intended. it’s definitely interesting to have a diff perspective!

um im playing chronological and i’m just noticing that in the remastered ellie is already crying by the time joel arrives to salt lake, or at least she starts when he arrives. i’m also 90% sure she keeps all the damage i took from the hotel infected right before.

@ceraphyte yeah i ended up replaying the cutscene and it was a bug w the tears bc they disappeared but all the cuts stayed so i wonder if that was intentional bc all my other playthroughs she’s pretty unscathed in that cutscene ! interesting

also idk if it’s clear or not but when i say damage i mean all the cuts on her neck and the one near her eye!!! never saw those in the other versions of the game 🙅‍♀️

this experience might be lowkey specific to all the young lesbian women with absent fathers who have experienced this game but it makes ellies revenge quest, profoundly more sad. she will forever live with the knowledge she could’ve told him sooner.

i don’t hate the version the show did but show watchers will never understand the feeling of reading ellie’s journal and discovering that she withheld her queerness from joel for years, only to learn that upon finding out and talking with ellie, he is so gentle in his acceptance.
