Saddened to hear about the death of veteran politician Dr. Mustafa Kamal Sahib.
إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah. My deepest condolences to Dr. Farooq Abdullah Sahib, Omar Abdullah Sahib, and all members of the bereaved family. May Allah grant them sabr to bear this loss.
On Youm-e-Ashoora, We remember Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the martyrs of Karbala, whose sacrifice remains an eternal lesson in truth, principles patience and steadfastness. Karbala reminds us that power fades, but faith, sacrifice and moral courage endure.
On the occasion of Mela Kheer Bhawani, I extend my warm greetings to our Kashmiri Pandit brethren. May this day renew the spirit of mutual respect, brotherhood and the shared heritage of Kashmir that we inherited
On the eve of the New Islamic Year, 1448 AH, we pray that the Almighty blesses the world with peace, mercy and reconciliation.
The Hijrah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, which marks the beginning of the Islamic calendar, reminds us that faith, patience and hope can overcome even the most difficult challenges. At a time of conflict and division, may we recommit ourselves to the values of justice, compassion, dialogue and mutual respect.
May this year bring peace to troubled lands, resolution of conflicts worldwide, unity to the Ummah, and blessings to all humanity. Ameen.
On this blessed Day of Arafah, one of the holiest in Islam, a day when prayers are accepted, sins forgiven and hearts purified. May Allah accept the Hajj of the pilgrims standing on the plains of Arafah, shower his mercy upon the Ummah, bring peace to troubled hearts and guide us all on the straight path.
The Prophet ﷺ encouraged us to increase in Tahleel (“Laa ilaaha illallaah”), Takbeer (“Allahu Akbar”), Tahmeed (“Alhamdulillaah”) and Tasbeeh (“Subhanallaah”) during these blessed days. Let the hearts and tongues remain engaged in the remembrance of Allah.
Today, Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid met to review arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha prayers. I later visited the historic Eidgah Srinagar and found the condition of the ground and other requirements to be fine . InshaAllah, weather permitting , Eid prayers according to Sunnah shall be offered at the Eidgah at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, May 27th, while I will deliver the Eid sermon from 8:30 AM.
We hope the authorities will not create any unnecessary hurdles, and allow the smooth conduct of Eid prayers at Eidgah
Sadly the administration repeatedly follows a practice of keeping people waiting till the last moment and then disallowing Eid prayers either at Eidgah or at Jamia Masjid, which hurts the religious sentiments of the people and is a blatant violation of our fundamental religious rights and freedoms .

On the 88th death anniversary of Allama Iqbal, paying tributes to this great thinker who rekindled faith and purpose among the Ummah
“نہیں ہے ناامید اقبال اپنی کشتِ ویراں سے
ذرا نم ہو تو یہ مٹی بڑی زرخیز ہے ساقی”
A timeless message of hope and renewal.
Alhumdulilah today the first batch of Hujjaj from Kashmir departs for the blessed journey to bait Ul lah in Makkah. Praying for their safe travel and acceptance of Haj before the maker.
To the hujaj I request that as you stand on the plains of Arafat, in that most profound and sacred moment, remember those suffering among the ummah. Raise your hands not only for yourselves in prayer, but for peace where there is war, justice where there is oppression, healing where there are wounds and dignity for all of humankind.
Veteran leader and former General secretary of AAC and life time associate of Shaheed-e-Millat and my respected colleague since, Ghulam Nabi Zaki Sahib of Sopore passed away today after a prolonged illness. Inna lillahi wa inna elyhi Rajaoon.
Deeply associated with the Kashmir cause, he faced repeated incarceration with unwavering resolve. A selfless and committed political activist, a man of high moral virtues, this is a profound loss for me and the organisation. May Allah grant him Jannat-ul-Firdous and give strength to his bereaved family.
For the third consecutive Friday in Ramzan I have been put under arbitrary house arrest-never conveyed in writing, but enforced by placing police vehicles and large contingents in front of my gate and the entire area, chocking gully points and lanes with concertina wires, disallowing traffic movement, all to prevent me from delivering the Friday sermon at Jama Masjid!
While It conveys panic of the rulers, the centrality of Jama Masjid for the Muslims of the region has unfortunately always been a thorn in their side, as are Muslim institutions and identity which they want to undermine.
But such measures cannot erase identity nor weaken faith. These attempts will fail.
On the most sacred night of “Laylatul Qadr”,when prayers and supplications resound In mosques seeking Allah’s mercy and forgiveness the central Jama Masjid Srinagar of Kashmir has once again been closed upon worshippers, and I have been placed under house arrest.
That the rulers fear prayers in a house of God on such a night speaks volumes about their insecurity and the shrinking of space for religious practices
The Qur’an reminds us
“And who is more unjust than those who prevent the name of Allah from being mentioned in His mosques.” (2:114)
Zulm and injustice cannot endure forever. Inshallah
Restrictions in the valley continue and have been heightened on a Friday in the holy month of Ramzan. I have also been placed under house arrest, and in these greatly blessed days, when thousands come to the mosques seeking blessings and guidance the pulpit of Jama Masjid is silent and all lanes and by lanes leading to the mosque barricaded. It is very sad and unfortunate.
But the sadness felt in Kashmir today is not only because of these restrictions. Muslims across the world are aggrieved and deeply anxious by Israeli and American aggression in the region. Israel and America want to reshape the region to suit their interests, and for that they are willing to go to any extent, as the brutal killing of the head of a country and a great spiritual leader, Ayatullah Khamenei and the attack on a sovereign nation Iran, plunging the entire region into a crisis and grief, shows.
Across Jammu and Kashmir, from the Valley to Jammu, Ladakh and Kargil people have expressed their condemnation of this aggression and expressed solidarity in one voice, beyond divisions as one ummah.
The Ummah cannot be divided in moments like this. When injustice is inflicted upon one part, pain is felt by the entire body.
As Mirwaiz, I stand in heartfelt solidarity with the people of Iran, with Palestinians and with those who are bearing the brunt of this aggression in the region and beyond. All human lives are precious, and wars and violence are man made catastrophes that cause loss of precious lives.
May Allah protect all, grant patience to those who mourn, and bring swift justice to the oppressors and liberate the oppressed.
Ramadan with @MirwaizKashmir | Episode No. 7
In a world growing distant, Ramadan brings us back to the table, to family, to neighbours, to one another. Protect the moments that build faith and belonging.

Deeply saddened and outraged at the brutal killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei by the US and Israel that has shaken the Muslim world. The people of JK collectively condemn this brutality and the ongoing aggression against Iran, as well as the massacre of innocent girl students in Minab.
In this hour of immense sorrow, our hearts beat with the resilient people of Iran. May Allah grant strength to the oppressed, elevate the martyrs, and bring swift justice to those responsible for this
This is a moment for the Ummah to rise above divisions and stand united and register our protest and solidarity against this killing and the continued aggression in the region. Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulama (MMU) has called for a complete strike tomorrow. We urge the people to observe it with unity, dignity, and complete peacefulness.
As the blessed month of Ramazan dawns upon us, may it be a time of reflection and renewal. May Allah accept our fasts, prayers, and good deeds, strengthen our Imaan, and fill our homes with barakah. Let this sacred month bring compassion to our hearts and unity to our Ummah.
Ramazan Mubarak. 🌙
