The sister of an ex-minister and her twin kids were kidnapped. And within 3days, the security forces have secured their release.

The kidnapped children of the poor, some of them 2year olds and 3year olds, are languishing in a terrorist hellhole for the last 3weeks with no hope of a rescue but within 3days the kidnapped children of an ex minister got released by govt forces.

Whether this kidnapping was staged or not, the message is clear, as a poor citizen in Nigeria, you are on your own. The government does not care about your life or safety.

How is it possible that they could rescue that woman and her children within 48 hours, yet more than three weeks after the Oriire kidnapping, there is still no tangible progress on the abduction of 42 schoolchildren and their teachers? Both incidents happened in the same Oyo State, yet the response has been night and day.

As far as the government is concerned, poor citizens like us are nothing but disposable tools for their political games, we are only useful only when it suits their narrative, and abandoned the moment the cameras stop rolling.
