@Mishologyy Sorry, should have been clearer - this was said in a podcast after burn bright so nothing to do with LL, but I completely agree with you! It’s so harmful for someone to read something like that and think of it as remotely consensual.
@d0ntknowshit ugh I never know what to feel with her because I HATED neviorory but then I loved maxsara. but agreed if she’s planning on turning alessio and massimo into weirdos she can keep that shit to herself
@alexihalecobalt@protocolckc I agree! I really hope if they do a whole second coming with Guy and this situation that it gets to be from Audrey’s POV. She deserves all of her justice and more :(
KBR have said they think it’s unrealistic for characters’ mental health to be ‘cured’ in just one book (about Harriet’s SA) and they want to grow those arcs across longer timelines so Audrey coming to terms with her SA will definitely be a point in the coming books.
@alexihalecobalt@protocolckc I definitely could have too much faith😭 It’s just genuinely so hard for me to imagine that they would sit there, write that, and then be satisfied with Guy going to HARVARD as his ending. But this is supposed to be a standalone so who knows🥴
For me personally, I think this and the marketing of the book were the biggest problems, but I’ll let y’all know now that neither are unforgivable in my eyes, I’d just like some accountability and for them to fix it moving forward.
I doubt Guy’s punishment will end there - even Scott was free and successful for a while before he was arrested. I think the primary issue with LL is that per arc readers, it’s not explicitly clear to the reader at the end that it definitely was SA even if Audrey isn’t sure yet.
and if I say that connor and rose's reaction just as jane little appearances on CE have to do with them already having their own books (and those are not published under bloom) so they don't get to appear as often or have any real plots that are important for the book
bc of this, i wanted to share this Global Directory in case anyone needs it. some ppl might think this is extreme or dramatic, but survivors know that sometimes just a word or unexpected touch can bring everything back and make you spiral. take care 💗

@alexihalecobalt definitely not enough, especially if they’re doing it all silently/in the background - all of this is null and void if they don’t at least address the criticism
I still think an apology should be issued and if possible the book should be edited slightly to make it more clear to the reader that it was definitely SA even if Audrey herself isn’t ready to come to that conclusion.
Just wanted to update people because I haven’t seen it being spoken about but ‘love triangle’ and ‘virgin heroine’ were removed as tropes on KBR’s website. Hope they continue with this for all marketing moving forward!
Guy could've just been an ass, which is a very common device in love triangles (which was how LL was advertised), when the author wants to steer the reader toward a specific person. many people, myself included, already found Guy to be a rich, arrogant douche after that chapter +
