@filmsreid gideon was fascinating, but the bau never felt like a family around him. he barely remembered garcia’s name, was so cold to emily, and reid was really the only one he had a personal bond with. once rossi came in, the whole team dynamic felt warmer and much more like a family.

i wish english had a word for 委屈. “hurt” is too broad, “wronged” and “unfair” are too external. 委屈 is that ache when you’ve been hurt unfairly, but there’s nowhere for the feeling to go, so you just carry it quietly.

piano man makes me think doyle left emily with more than the fear her body still remembered. she cared about him, turned something real into part of the operation, then later genuinely wanted him dead. none of it ended when the operation did.

and yes, i believe paget is a good enough actor to fake that chemistry. i’m just not convinced emily prentiss is 😂

and Lauren episode literally gives us: “that goes for lying to yourself even more so than lying to another.” you cannot put that line over this story and expect me to believe every feeling lauren had was fake.

and she kept the gimmel ring for years. not just because it represented the future doyle thought they had, but because i don’t think she could throw it away and pretend none of it counted just because it was undercover. she lived that lie. she had to carry what it cost.

when she learns about declan, she doesn’t just try to save the kid. she offers doyle a way for all three of them to leave together — she has resources, contacts, a way out. that is really not emotionally neutral.
