The #PSBlackout seems to be working.

🎮 Sony is defending digital game “ownership” in court - and it could affect how we buy games.

A California lawsuit claims PlayStation Store’s “Buy Now” buttons can make customers believe they’re purchasing a game outright.

Sony argues that’s not the case: digital games are licensed, not sold, and the licensing terms explain that.

Meanwhile, Xbox is taking a different approach.

Microsoft announced a program covering 1,000 disc-based games, allowing eligible physical-game owners to receive digital entitlements that can transfer if the disc is sold.

So the bigger debate is:

When you “buy” a digital game, do you actually own it - or are you only buying a license to access it? 👀

The line between buying, owning and licensing games is getting increasingly blurry.
