To the Islamophobia Patients Who Attack Me Because I Converted from Christianity to Islam

There is something I want to say to them.

I was born in Korea in 1986, and in 2009, I left Christianity and entered Islam.

Even after converting, I studied Islam for more than ten years while traveling through several Middle Eastern countries. I studied for my own sake, because I could not allow myself to believe in a false religion.

So please be assured: Islam is indeed the religion of truth.

I believe Islamophobia is not merely ignorance, but a kind of illness.

I, too, had many strange prejudices about Islam when I was a Christian. But after breaking free from those prejudices, my health improved and my life changed.

A life without Islam is not truly living. Even if I were offered hundreds of billions, I would never abandon Islam. I cannot even imagine a life without Islam.

Muslims are civil people.

We are all aware of the Rápe festival that happened in Ozoro, delta state a few days ago.

Random men harassing, abusing, desecrating and allegedly raping them like zombies pouncing on a human being. The videos are all over.

Nobody has blamed it on Christians, Christianity or even Jesus.

No, we only blame the individuals not their religion, not their religious books, and not even their pastors, not even the whole of delta, because it was perpetrated by a handful of men.

If this has happened, even in a minority northern state, the entire internet would have blamed it on "Islam", the entire Muslims, aboki culture, and the Qur'an.

Islam didn't teach us to generalized in criticism for a crime perpetrated by a few.

We weren't taught to blame sins on an entire religion or its books

We weren't taught to blame clerics, their synagogues or question their education and qualification.

No, we separate the person and his character from his religion

Blame the person, not his religion, books, or Prophet.

Arrest and punish the person, not his religion or beliefs.

No religion on earth enjoins public rape, not even paganism.

I am just imagining if this had happened in the north, oh the head of all Muslims would have been ordered for by now.

This is what makes the Muslims different from others,

We are civilized, we are objective in approach, and even when we we criticize, we do so constructively, we don't practice mob culture virtually or physically.

If you see any group of northerners practicing mob culture, they didn't learn it from islam, they are following their own whims and caprices, blame them, not Islam.

Call people out for their crimes, don't generalize, and don't blame their religion, it shouldn't be hard.

Today, I joined the Ahlus Sunna Muslim community at the forecourt of the State House, in the company of distinguished Imams, clerics, and other Ghanaians.

The Ramadan fast is a demonstration of discipline, sacrifice, and moral renewal. The period calls us to reflect, strengthen our character, and renew our position as responsible members of society. Through this spiritual journey, we are reminded of the values that unite us all.

As we celebrate Eid, let us stand together and work towards peace within our nation and across the world. May the blessings of this day fill your hearts with joy, your homes with peace, and our nation with continued unity and harmony.
