Have you ever imagined the kind of tourism numbers Uganda would be hosting if we had four fully functional tourism marketing offices, each with over 20 staff dedicated to promoting Destination Uganda around the world?
Now imagine a strong partnership between government and the tourism private sector, with the Association of Uganda Tour Operators and other stakeholders regularly sharing ideas, solving challenges together, and driving one clear vision for Uganda’s tourism.
Below I shared a list of who our targets shou be ;
China – Historically one of the world’s biggest outbound tourism markets by total spending, though travel patterns have changed since the pandemic.
United States – One of the largest sources of international travelers and among the highest in total tourism spending.
Germany – Germans are known for taking frequent holidays and are consistently among the world’s highest-spending travelers.
United Kingdom – A major outbound travel market with high spending on holidays.
France – Large number of international leisure travelers.
Canada – Canadians are frequent international travelers with relatively high spending.
Australia – Australians travel abroad often despite long distances and tend to spend significantly per trip.
Japan – A major outbound tourism market with high-value travelers.
South Korea – Strong outbound travel market with increasing long-haul tourism.
Saudi Arabia – One of the highest spenders on international travel, driven by both leisure and religious travel.

I always appreciate meeting passionate young people who are eager to learn, grow, and build something meaningful.
Today I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Abraham (@abraham_tu10531 ), a professional chef with five years of experience in the hospitality industry. He has been following my work online for quite some time, and today we finally had an insightful conversation about the tourism industry.
Abraham (@abraham_tu10531 )intends to venture into tourism, but he understands that, like any other business, success doesn’t come overnight. Tourism is an exciting industry, but it requires knowledge, experience, and patience. I was impressed by his willingness to undergo training and join several safaris to gain firsthand experience and master the art of tourism before fully stepping in.
He also has a wide network of friends and family who continue to inspire and encourage him. What stood out most to me was his belief in making as many genuine connections as possible. In tourism and in business generally your network is one of your greatest assets.
After all, making friends and building meaningful relationships is one of the most effective forms of marketing. People do business with those they know, trust, and connect with.
I wish @abraham_tu10531 all the best on this exciting journey. The tourism industry rewards those who are willing to learn, remain consistent, and serve people with passion.
This afternoon, we are at the Bahá’í Temple having a conversation that goes far beyond business.
Whenever I get the opportunity to spend time with university students, I always remind them that the picture they have of life before they finish campus is often very different from the reality they will face after graduation.
The transition into the professional world can be challenging. Opportunities don’t always come as quickly as expected, and success requires much more than a degree.
That’s why I encourage them to start paving the way early. Build practical skills, seek internships, volunteer, network with people in your field, start small projects, and create opportunities for yourself before you graduate.
The earlier you prepare for life after campus, the fewer disappointments you’ll face, and the more confident you’ll be when that chapter begins.
I will take him to west Nile ( Adjumani, Moyo , then Murchison falls , hoima , Fortpotal, bundibujo , Rubirizi and Mbarara
Am sure he will be shocked of how beautiful Uganda is.

The fight to restore Ajai Wildlife Reserve as a thriving wildlife destination is steadily gaining momentum. Uganda Wildlife Authority first embarked on the rewilding journey through the reintroduction of rhinos, a species that had gone extinct in the reserve due to poaching and other human-induced factors.
Now, the first batch of zebras has successfully arrived at Ajai Wildlife Reserve.
Following the translocation of rhinos, the reintroduction of zebras forms part of broader conservation efforts aimed at enhancing biodiversity, restoring the reserve’s ecological integrity, and positioning Ajai once again as one of Uganda’s key wildlife habitats.
These efforts mark a significant milestone in Uganda’s conservation journey and offer renewed hope for the future of Ajai Wildlife Reserve.
Thank you @ugwildlife
Thank you 🙏 to everyone who turned up for today’s XTrekkers Run.
