A person who has taken pre exposure prophylaxis earlier due to his job...now that he presents with grade 3 dog bite.whats the mx?
This is confusing bcz in pre exposure prophylaxis we have not given immunoglobulin,so do we have to give it now or not

The Window Period 🚨

Classic INI-CET trap:

The burglar has left → HBsAg (−)

But the new locks aren't ready → Anti-HBs (−)

So what’s left?

📹 IgM Anti-HBc (+)

During the window period, IgM Anti-HBc is the key positive marker.

When in doubt, check the footage.

NEET PG / INI-CET: Hep B serology is one of those topics you think you know until a PYQ gives you a combination of + and − signs and your brain just stops working.

There’s a much easier way to make sense of it.
Think of Hep B as home invasion

The Core 📹

Anti-HBc = your security camera footage.

The vaccine contains surface antigen, NOT core antigen.

So:

💉 Vaccine → Anti-HBs (+), Anti-HBc (−)

🦠 Natural infection → Anti-HBc (+)

Core antibody = proof that the real virus showed up.
