also relies heavily on parsing lua expressions as js so that they can be reconstructed on the backend, so perhaps using a combination of parsers or creating a custom plugin is required

wrote a small compiler from React/JSX expressions to Roact/Lua expressions. currently limited syntax support, but i plan to extend it ends up being a useful tool
