@WhistleblowingT There are people who say bad things about my school and lots that have left will say terrible things. I love it. The kids are a challenge but a good challenge, staff are VERY supportive and it’s the right school for me. I’d try it and see -it might be just their opinion.

@Clive_Hill @Shelter They don’t make the choice to be paid poorly. They made that choice to be a nurse. The pay hasn’t suddenly been cut out of the blue. It’s about the path you take and why. People get paid in more ways than money.

@Clive_Hill @Shelter The kids I teach know I care about them. They also know that I am one of the very few people who do. Their parents also know that I’m one of the few who actually listens and cares and ACTS on what I say. I do my job because I want to help that child see a difference in the world.

@Clive_Hill @Shelter It’s two year groups made up of 1.3 classes spread across three partial timetable teachers. They all teach all the kids so they can better differentiate to academic ability. It’s primary school.

@Clive_Hill @Shelter I’m just going with MY experience of both being in school working and being a parent. My sons teachers do their best for him but they haven’t got the time to deal with what he actually needs because they have 70 children to think about! Its nothing new though.

@Clive_Hill @Shelter It’s well known to every teacher in this country that they are not afforded the time to teach the children in front of them effectively. They are bound too tight to actually care about their classes.

@Clive_Hill @Shelter I know there is a national payscale. That’s for mainstream and main scale teachers. That what I started as and then the job changed away from teaching children and making a difference. Teachers don’t teach the child anymore as they’re not allowed the time to do that.

@Clive_Hill @Shelter It’s still a choice though. It’s a choice to work in a role where you know the pay and it’s not as much as other jobs. I also know nurses who earn a lot more than their counterparts because they work private medicine. It’s a choice.

@Foxerino @Shelter I knew what I was getting into. It’s why I keep doing it. There’s plenty of other jobs I can do where I would earn a lot more.
