Today’s heavy rain ,second in 3 days of over 10 cms , threw the traffic out of gear due to water logging and overflowing nalas. It’s a tough time for traffic police during this time to manage the diversions and the flow. Having done this work for over 3 years as addl cp traffic , I fully understand what it involves . They are all fully equipped with rain coats and rain shoes and batons so that they don’t desert the junctions and brave the rain and facilitate movement of vehicles . The law and order police is also asked to chip in and help the traffic police during these tough times . Hats off to them !
The GHMC and HYDRA teams are also equally in the field clearing the drains , the trees and electric wires which fall. Ofcourse , there are some points where water gets logged and traffic does not move and no one can do anything about it till the water recedes .
I can only request the public to cooperate during such times and not move out of your homes or offices till the rain stops and thereafter too , unless it is very urgent . This will help reduce the burden on the administration 🙏🏻
