Ty called me a witch, but he’s the scariest thing to happen to Kansas since Brownback. Pretty weird – even for Ty Masterson.

SENATOR SLOTKIN: If you hear in the next 34 days that there is a new security threat that you’ve never heard of, that somehow requires federal law enforcement or the military and not local police, an alarm bell should go off in your brain. Do not let him get away with that.

It's absolutely fucking crazy how we're letting dilapidated old white men who won't be around in 10 years destroy the planet for profits they can't take with them. It's insane.

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

Fool me 4 times…. I’m an idiot.

I just want to point out… the amount of money the U.S. has spent on war in the last 2.5 months is roughly the same cost that Bernie Sanders proposed for universal college. So the real question is never ‘can we afford it’… it’s what we choose to prioritize.

And they get 79 dollars to eat a day. Snap people get about 6 dollars a day.

Congress has not worked enough days in 2026 to qualify for SNAP, just in case you were curious who was actually sponging off our tax dollars.

Twenty-five years ago today, the first warning anybody on the ground received did not come from the FAA, or NORAD, or the FBI. It came from a 45-year-old flight attendant crouched in the back galley of the plane that was already hijacked.

American Airlines Flight 11 left Logan at 7:59 a.m. It was taken somewhere over central Massachusetts around 8:14.

At 8:19, Betty Ong got on an airphone with a calling card and reached American Airlines operations in Cary, North Carolina. The man who picked up thought at first it was a prank.

She stayed on that line for 23 minutes. She stayed on it until the aircraft hit the North Tower.

Listen to what she is actually doing in those 23 minutes. She is not screaming. She reports that the cockpit will not answer. She reports that two flight attendants have been stabbed, and names them, Karen Martin and Barbara Arestegui. She reports a passenger stabbed in business class. She reports that someone has sprayed mace in the forward cabin and that they cannot breathe back there. She says, in a voice people who have heard the tape describe as almost conversational, that she thinks they are being hijacked.

Then she starts giving seat numbers.

At the same time, in another galley on the same airplane, a 35-year-old flight attendant named Amy Sweeney was on a line to Michael Woodward, the flight service manager at Logan and a friend of hers for ten years. She had two small children at home in Acton, Massachusetts.

Sweeney gave him three seats. 9D. 9G. 10B.

Woodward wrote them down. Somebody pulled the manifest and looked up those seat assignments while the plane was still in the air.

9D was Mohamed Atta. 9G was Abdulaziz al-Omari. 10B was Satam al-Suqami.

Names, addresses, phone numbers, credit cards. The men who planned the entire operation to be anonymous were identified by name before the second plane had even hit, because a flight attendant on a hijacked aircraft did the most boring, most disciplined thing imaginable and read out seat assignments.

Woodward asked Sweeney to look out the window and tell him what she could see.

She said she saw water. She said she saw buildings. She said they were flying very low, way too low.

Then she said, "Oh my God."

The line went dead at 8:46.

Two women, on the first aircraft, with no training for any of this and no reason left to believe they were going to live. They spent the last twenty minutes of their lives calmly feeding intelligence to people on the ground.

Everything the country learned that morning, it learned from them first.

I reread this every year.

I cry like a baby every year.

Todd Beamer died a father, husband, and hero.

Todd: Hello… Operator… listen to me. I can’t speak very loud. This is an emergency. I’m a passenger on a United flight to San Francisco. Our plane has been hijacked.

Lisa: I understand. Can they see you?

Todd: No. There are three that we know of. They have knives — razor knives, like box cutters. Someone announced from the cockpit there was a bomb. It sounded fake.

Lisa: Your name?Todd: Todd Beamer. United Flight 93.Todd: They killed one passenger in first class. They forced most of us back. Fourteen of us here. Five flight attendants. The guy with the bomb ordered us to sit on the floor.

Lisa: Are you okay?

Todd: We’re going down… wait. No. We’re leveling off. We changed directions. We’re flying east again.

Todd: A guy named Jeremy called his wife. She told him two planes hit the World Trade Center. Lisa, is that true?

Lisa: I have to tell you the truth. It’s very bad. Both towers are gone. A third plane hit the Pentagon. Our country is under attack. I’m afraid your plane may be part of their plan.

Todd: Oh God. Lisa, will you do something for me? Call my wife and my kids. Promise me you’ll call.

Lisa: I promise.

Todd: Our home number is… You have the same name as my wife. Lisa. We’ve been married ten years. She’s pregnant with our third child. Tell her I love her. I’ll always love her. We have two boys — David, he’s 3, and Andrew, he’s 1. Tell them their daddy loves them and he is so proud of them. The baby is due January 12th. I saw an ultrasound. We still don’t know if it’s a girl or a boy.

Lisa: I’ll tell them. I promise, Todd.(Lisa patches in the FBI.)

Agent: Todd, your plane is on a course for Washington. Best guess is the White House or the Capitol.

Todd: I understand. I’ll be back.

Todd: Everyone knows this isn’t a normal hijacking. We have decided we will not be pawns in their plot.

Lisa: What are you going to do?

Todd: Four of us are going to rush the one with the bomb. Then the cockpit. A stewardess is getting boiling water. We’ll take them out.

Todd: Would you pray with me?They pray the Lord’s Prayer. Then: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.

Todd: God help me. Jesus help me.Are you guys ready? Let’s Roll.
