You don’t have to be ‘good’ at something to enjoy doing it. You don’t have to create with the expectation that it has to be perceived as ‘good enough’ for everyone else. Create for joy, for self expression, with curiosity and you will stumble across things that light you up.
We’re not meant to have it all figured out, how boring would that be. Falling in love with curiously finding our way, finding what brings us joy, is so much more fun. Getting to know yourself over and over again as you evolve and change. Your not supposed to stay the same.
If you’re feeling flat try finding joy in the small moments, daily moments that slip us by when we’re so busy focusing on where we’re going next. Often joy is accessible to us right now and it just takes a small shift of focus on the present moment to be able to access that joy.
If you didn’t wake up today feeling ready to smash your goals or you’re feeling a little sad and overwhelmed today. Make it your goal for today to be as kind and compassionate to yourself as you would if your mate is having a bad day.
In 2022 commit to accepting yourself. Commit to becoming open to the idea that you don’t actually need to change a single thing about yourself in order to be worthy of living a life you love.
Growth takes patience, compassion and it takes choosing. Choosing everyday to honour yourself, to make conscious changes that serve the life you want to live. You don’t need to rush or bend the path of your growth, surrender to what is meant for you. Grow at your own pace 🌿
You can have everything that looks good externally but if your internal world feels lonely, disconnected and out of alignment you are still going to feel like somethings missing. Shift the focus to how your life FEELS rather than how it looks.
Commit to yourself. Commit to finding out what makes you feel alive. And letting go of the things that don’t. You don’t have to feel ✨ Good vibes✨ all the time but commit to loving yourself so deeply that on the bad days you know you are still a pretty amazing human being.
I remember wanting to try something totally new and all I could see was fear of what would go wrong.
Someone said to me “your worst case scenario is to be back where you are right now so why not?”
Every single time I think about trying something new I remember that.
When I find myself feeling lost or lacking clarity it’s usually because my energy and focus has been on things outside of me. I spend some time coming back to the things that light me up, it’s okay to disconnect from the external world to check on how your internal world feels.
A lot of our adult behaviours are created in childhood, we adapt to our environment in order to survive. Shaming ourselves doesn’t change the behaviour. The key is practicing deep compassion for the child within that feels they need to abandon themselves in order to survive.
If you feel ‘behind’ because of society’s expectations, just know that YOU get to choose your goals and the real question should not be what have you achieved or what’s next on the to-do list. It should be are you happy?
Sometime I ask myself what do I sacrifice by not showing up authentically? Genuine connections. Purposeful living. A sense of belonging. Soul fulfilment.
Quickly shifts me into what really matters and all the incredible things I gain from just being myself.
Your purpose does not lie in anything outside of you. No big change needs to be made, your purpose is you. It’s the fact you woke up today. Shift your focus to connecting to you, not obtaining anything else but deep connection to yourself. That’s where your purpose lies.
When you work on feeling whole and worthy of the things you desire, seeing other people winning doesn’t feel like competition anymore. It feels like evidence, that it’s possible for you too.
Big change come from the small habits, the daily commitments to you, making a conscious effort to return to yourself everyday. It’s in those small moments we affirm that WE MATTER, it’s where we build trust with ourselves. The small things are actually were the magic happens.
Some days you’re going to feel energised, motivated and ready to take on the world. Other days you’ll want slowness, rest and a long bath. That is on being a multifaceted human being, not your worthiness as one. The problem is hustle culture, not you.
Just a reminder that regardless of how your day is going.. you are f*cking fabulous. Exactly as you are. If nobody has told you today, you should be proud of how far you’ve come. Past you would be so proud.
