At our recent Solidarity Day, young people from Manchester, of all races and backgrounds, came together to think and learn. In one session, they pulled together the headlines they hope to see, that reflect the realities they want to organise around.
It feels relevant today.
A moment of positivity 🥹
Some of the over 65 ladies who attended our @RekindleSchool 3 course Caribbean lunch today.
All free. Everyone welcome.
Emphasis, as always on community, connection and conversation.
When things are bleak, it's crucial to hold onto the beauty ❤️
The racism and violence in these riots is so frightening and should be condemned. I rarely use this platform anymore, and the content I see on it now makes me want to never come back.
So I’m amplifying hopeful alternatives, and sending solidarity to anyone feeling scared today.
We are at a crossroads. We can either hold our communities together or risk them falling apart.
It’s time for community action. It’s time for good people to join together and take a stand. It’s time to hold on to hope.
Are you with us? https://t.co/lm6OSqmS4R
Hugely important moment to see families bereaved by the Grenfell Tower fire, the infected blood scandal and Covid-19 coming together to fight for action on the basis of public inquiries.
Of the 27 children who started reception last September, 8 were in nappies. The primary school is also having to teach some children Makaton, a basic form of sign language as some pupils can't say basic sentences such as "Can I go to the toilet?"
We're donating 5p from every M&S Farmhouse Loaf we sell to our brilliant charity partner @YoungMindsUK.
Such a great initiative that will make such a difference 💛

What Does Movement Mean To You?
For us, ‘movement’ transcends how we physically move our bodies and instead centres how we move together as a community, the change we can create and the impact we feel.
Calling all choristers!
We have an open call for choirs across the UK to participate in a recording project we are doing with the Serpentine London this summer. If you are interested please comment with the name of your choir and our team will be in touch.
Making our world more mentally healthy means tackling systemic injustices that make mental health worse. Eradicating systemic racism must be central to this. Such a critically important manifesto and set of actions published today from @BMHManifesto.
The Black Mental Health Manifesto, launched today, sets out the actions needed by the Government, the NHS, schools and others to eradicate systemic racism and improve Black people’s mental health.

“The language that we use… even in the question ‘Do we have a sick note culture?’ It’s cruel”
Chair of the NHS Confederation Victor Adebowale says the use of “performative” language needs to stop, and the government should show more "compassion"

Very excited to share our new brand @YoungMindsUK today and about the change it signals for us - in how we connect with young people, create space for young people's stories, and work together to create change. Thank you to every single person who's been part of it.
We’ve changed how we look. And we’re changing how we do things, too.
Growing up in this world is tough.
And young people are being ignored by the people and decision-makers who *really* need to listen.
But we are listening.
Young people told us they want honesty - they want us to speak up more on issues that matter to them.
They want mental health support that makes them feel seen and heard.
They want solutions to the mental health emergency that don’t always need a politician to make them happen.
They need us to do more to support Black, minoritised and marginalised young people.
And they need hope for a better future.
We will stand alongside young people. And together, we will create the world they deserve.
I love the London marathon. All of these incredible people running together for something they believe in. Extra special cheer for everyone running for @YoungMindsUK and hurray for @samaritans at the heart of it all #londonmarathon2024#BelieveInTomorrow
For the first time this year @LondonMarathon will have @samaritans support hubs positioned around the route and Sam’s tail walkers supporting everyone to get over the finish line 💚
@MQmentalhealth@LeaMilligan@AMRC Such profoundly sad news, and a huge loss. Sending love and condolences to Lea’s family, friends and colleagues. Our thoughts are with you all 💛
A million children in England were referred to mental health services last year, ITV News can exclusively reveal.
Figures from the children's commissioner show almost 40,000 children are waiting more than two years for treatment.
