@RebeccaPurchas3 I agree! It is important to surround ourselves with people who practice healthy habits and have a positive outlook on life. The people we spend the most time with often have the greatest impact on our lifestyle and mental health. #HKR1000
From tracking my mood, I noticed that my high stress levels were often linked to academic stressors. Effectively managing time can help to cope with these stressors (e.g., scheduling tasks at the time of day when Iβm most productive). This can help improve wellbeing. #HKR1000
@Keeping02Sara I agree! Social media can have a negative impact on self-image, especially for teenagers. The unrealistic expectations set by social media can cause people to resort to unhealthy coping mechanisms that can harm both our physical and mental health. #HKR1000
We are unaware of many of the effects climate change can have on our health, which will worsen unless we make lifestyle changes. For example, reducing greenhouse gas emissions will help us strive for wellness individually and as a population. #HKR1000 https://t.co/YPni87xYKi
@EwanMackenzie20#HKR1000 I agree! It can be difficult to maintain nutritional wellness while being a university student with a busy schedule. Students do not always have the time to make healthy meals and may opt for cheaper, quicker options that are often high in sodium and highly processed.
One of the lower areas of wellness for our #HKR1000 class was physical wellness. As a student, it can be difficult to find time to exercise, eat healthy, etc. However, these practices are essential to improve stamina, cardiovascular health, to relieve stress, and prevent disease.
