Sigh. Same (or quite possibly much worse). We are constantly being told by presumably authoritative FM folks that there’s no infrastructure investments being made for buildings in the Midwest/Eastern US. Though we did just dedicate a new Temple only an hour away, so that’s a win.

Wow. That stinks. I’m really hoping you were paid for that session, even if they didn’t want the pics! When I was photographing weddings full time (in Ohio), I always included an engagement session in the wedding pricing to avoid this kind of situation. And to book the session/wedding date, they’d pay a non-refundable amount which covered the engagement session and help me recoup if I wasn’t able to reschedule their date. I was very up front about the process, that if after the session, they felt like it wasn’t a good fit, we would know it early enough for them to be able to make other arrangements. But Bridals? you must be coming up really close to wedding date, right? Ugh! Frustrating! I hate to say it, but I guess I can see this happening in Utah more than in other places, for … various reasons. But live and learn and figure out a way to avoid the situation again! While I definitely listen and take direction from my clients, I most certainly *always always always* shoot the session that is representative of my body of work, since that’s what they hired me based on. And though they have certain things in mind, if the session I hand back to them looks like “me” and everything they had looked at on my site, they are usually always thrilled, even if the “shot” they dreamed of didn’t make the final cut. Still stinks for you though. Sorry man.

Yes, in my rural Ohio stake, a major challenge is the transplants that come with fresh energy, invigorated by their move to the “mission field” (ugh) and want to carry on every tradition. But we just don’t have the depth of leadership or attendance to make many of those things work. And they won’t listen to the long-time members who try to temper the enthusiasm and direct their efforts where they are really needed, where they could really be useful. Too many times people thinking we’re just 1 really amazing ward activity away from a full chapel on Sunday. Sigh.

Family not scrubbed. As of a few days ago when Candace mentioned them, I could still find both their families and extended on Facebook. By all accounts from what I saw, they all look like totally normal, good folks, trying to raise families. It is possibly they may have gone private or deactivated accounts because of the attention.

@MAGAMemeDave @JohnDParody Have you compared zanfel to tec-nu? I have a lot ( A LOT) of experience treating my daughters and Zanfel is the absolute clear winner between the two (particularly for poison sumac)

If you have poison ivy, that’s not so bad many things can help. But if you have poison sumac or a large rash area that needs treated this is the only way. 1000% this: ZANFEL scrub, but follow the directions to the letter. And yes rescrub every hour if it starts to itch again. You end up using a lot of product and it can be pricey. Legend has it that the inventor of ZANFEL discovered it because he was selling pumice hand scrub door to door and discovered it worked miraculously on poison ivy breakouts if used in a specific way. Some have tried to determine which hand scrub it was and many believe Zanfel is extremely similar to (and might be based on) Extreme Green Power Hand Scrub (formerly mean green). You can buy this in much bigger quantities so that you can actually have enough product to get relief from large scale rashes. (Since you scrub with it multiple multiple times.

After washing with the scrub for an entire day to absolutely remove all the urishol, you can apply a mask of 1:1 mix of Aztec Bentonite clay and good quality (and fresh) apple cider vinegar. Leave it on till it dries out completely. If you’re prone to compulsive itching, rewash with the scrub and then reply the clay mask until you find relief. Warning: If you try to use other itch products like hydrocortisone before all the urishol is removed, you will make it 10x worse.
