I'll tell you the real reason it's not in the Bible.

Because the Quran stole that story from the rejected fake gospel known as the Infancy Gospel of Thomas.

The early church rejected that gospel as heretical. It was written during the 600 year period between Jesus & Muhammad.

How did Muhammad hear that story? Well he was a merchant surrounded by Jewish & heretical Christian tribes.

This is one of the many stories he plagiarized from fake gospels + Jewish folklore.
