I guess now it’s really official! @TAMU , you have my heart! I never would have expected my mail lady (who is the sweetest!) to be the person handing me my diploma, but it was fun! Also, Reed Arena may not have allowed my grad cap glasses, but my mail lady sure did! Whoop!
“Lord, one day at a time. You’ve given me today. I will be faithful today. I want to be used by You.” A lot was on my heart when I prayed this in my journal. Still so true. One day at a time.
That thing you can't stop worrying about?
Verbally give it over to the Lord. Say out loud, "God, this is hard for me. I feel like I have more control if I keep worrying about (insert worry.) But I fully give this to You. I trust You. You are good and You are good at being God."
We have to fight the urge to expect our version of God’s good timing, God’s good provision, and God’s good protection to match what we script for our lives.
God Himself is good. And that means His plans are good, His ways are good, and we can trust Him at all times.
Friends, if you are feeling like you’re not the best version of yourself right now, remember that everyone you interact with is likely feeling the same. Kindness and gentleness and generosity of spirit will see us through. ✨
I don’t need to rally more of my own strength... but instead learn more and more how to rely on the Lord’s strength.
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’” 2 Corinthians 12:9a
Truth lived out is the best sermon.
Lord, help me be so very mindful of this.
In the midst of all my imperfections and shortcomings I still want it to be evident I spend time with You.
Jesus, You are the satisfaction for every deep longing in my heart. My Bread of life. The Light that chases away my darkness and gives me hope. The true Vine I cling to and receive from. My all in all. The Great I Am.
Yes, Jesus. I love You. I need You.
"I have learned the secret of facing plenty... I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:12-13
If we do not learn this secret, “plenty” will destroy us.
BREAKING: College Station Mayor Karl Mooney has signed an emergency order requiring face masks to be worn in College Station businesses. This order is effective at 6 a.m. on Monday, June 29. Story to follow.
One of the most dangerous things a Christian can do right now is neglect Bible reading.
Thousands of voices are attempting to convince you how to think.
Be certain, you are being shaped.
More Scripture, less social media.
More Bible, less books.
More prayer, less blog posts.
Making this to celebrate mentorship in the Body of Christ is such a gift. I’m so grateful for intergenerational relationships that stem beyond leadership positions over me. It’s such a gift when it turns into a lasting friendship and sister-in-Christ.
It is a privilege to join with a multi-denominational, multi-ethnic group of 50 pastors and leaders from the Brazos Valley to sign this statement denouncing "racism and racial injustice in all of its forms."
The gospel calls us to pursue racial unity.
