I’ve written this piece for @IndyVoices about the spike in killings in #ElSalvador and the crackdown that has followed. Thanks to @UCA_ES and @ysuca91siete for their analysis https://t.co/oi9vJ4RJD6
Nearly 70% of UK adults have bought Fairtrade products like bananas, tea or coffee in the past year!🍌 🍵 ☕
It comes as we found 79% of Brits are concerned that climate change could affect food prices, while 69% are worried it could disrupt UK supplies.

Such wonderful news to hear @frankcottrell_b is the new children’s laureate … and that he will focus on making sure more young children are read to every day https://t.co/lOTudjymw5
Enjoying @CliveMyrieBBC’s Caribbean series - and great to see him visit a banana farm growing @FairtradeUK bananas 🍌 (which means the producers receive a minimum price, a Fairtrade Premium & better working conditions) in the latest episode (15). Recommend catching up on iPlayer!
Around the world, those who’ve contributed least to our climate crisis are shouldering the heaviest burden of its consequences.
When it comes to acting to save our planet and its people, this is not the time to back down.

Thank you @StCatherinesEN5 and other Catholic schools in Barnet for taking part in this year's #BigLentWalk and supporting @CAFOD's work tackling poverty and injustice worldwide 👏👏@CAFODSchools
Had such a fun time joining St Catherine's primary school for their #BigLentWalk last week!
Thank you so much for raising funds for @CAFOD's work supporting communities around the world to tackle poverty and injustice.
Great to work on this story in the @DailyMirror with @CAFOD’s partner in Bethlehem - and to share the situation for Palestinians living in the West Bank
'With the unspeakable suffering in Gaza, it is difficult to write anything at all this Christmas season.'
Read this powerful reflection from Toine van Teeffelen, who works for our partner Arab Educational Institute in Bethlehem.

Only high-earners are allowed to fall in love in 2023.💔
My husband applied for his spouse visa in 2010, just before they introduced this requirement. Neither of us were earning anywhere near £38k salary.
🚨 BREAKING: Rishi Sunak will increase the salary threshold so that EVERY migrant has to earn over £38k before coming to Britain in a major plan to slash migration
He will also announce new limits on them bringing family

#COP28 must be a time for leaders to heed Pope Francis’ call: “not for a partial change, but a new way of making progress together, and for choosing a culture of life over a culture of death."
said @CAFOD’s Neil Thorns via @BBCWorld https://t.co/CyXqEElFkx
Ahead of #COP28, @CAFOD’s Director @CDenchN21 writes in today’s @thetimes: “even before @Pontifex arrives, the delegates can have no doubt about his view of their duty: to save God’s creation from uncontrollable environmental disaster.”

Happy Liverpool fan, and proud to have worked with Mons Héctor Fabio and @CAFOD Catholic Church partners in Colombia - who work tirelessly for peace and helped to secure release of @LuisFDiaz19’s Father ❤️
According to OCHA Gaza update, as of 29 October, at least 1,050 children have been reported missing and may be trapped or dead under the rubble, awaiting rescue or recovery. Can't get my head around those numbers. #CeasefireNOW
Last night, we joined @savechildrenuk, @oxfamgb, @christianaid and @AAH_UK in urging the UK government to listen to the call for a #CeasefireNOW.
The fighting must stop so that more humanitarian aid can reach the civilian population of Gaza.
We are deeply saddened by the news from our partner Caritas Jerusalem that a staff member, her husband and child lost their lives yesterday.
Please pray for all those who have lost loved ones, have been injured and displaced, and live in fear as the violence continues.
Joined @CAFOD today to hand over signatures of over 70,000 Catholics from Eng&Wales (inc 18 Catholic Bishops) calling on World Bank to fix the broken global food system and protect the right of farmers around the world to use their seeds #WBmeetings
“The UK is leaving its reputation in tatters” - @neilthorns, @cafod director of advocacy, responds to Rishi Sunak’s u-turn on green targets tonight on @BBCWorld
Today as a result of a night attack by Russian troops, the humanitarian aid warehouse of Caritas-Spes Ukraine in #Lviv was destroyed. The employees haven`t got injured, the warehouse and everything in it burned to the ground. 300 tons of humanitarian supplies were burned.
