My homeless patient overnight was out in the cold rain. They told me they go to Tim Hortons and the TTC for shelter. This reality is a policy choice by the City of Toronto. It is heartless. Giving shelter to all saves taxpayers money. It's cheaper than seeing an ER doctor.

Add-on fees for OHIP-insured cataract surgery ranged from $450-$5000 extra per eye for "non-OHIP lens."
