I was watching the bladder neck seminar by @AmerAcadPeds section of urology and my 13 year old son asked if I was looking at female parts. I explained that it was a man’s perineum with a surgical opening. He did not have much of a reaction.
When do surgeons let their kids look?

On a survey of all male surgeons I know, a vast majority of them have partners who work part time:don’t work (I know some who’s partners do, but majority don’t)

Of female surgeons I know all their partners work full time

My hospitalist friend just told me about a urology intern who recently tried to tell her how to change an SP tube over a phone call. And ended the call with “good luck!” Reputable institution will remained unnamed… but is this really what we want in urology ?
