@imsommez So many times, again and again, where any concern of age difference can just disappear
if a person speaks & listens to me & tantalizes my brain & soul.. instant attraction’s inevitable, it no longer matters if they’re 25 or 50.. they’ve already earned their in 🤷🏻♀️😌
if you’ve met me in person, you'd know i’m genuine. i’m not disrespectful, i’m not cold, and i don't see myself above anyone. i don't do things for attention or validation. i move honestly, stay in my lane, and give energy where it's matched. if someone doesn't like me, that's on them, not my problem. i protect my peace, and keep my focus on securing my bag.
My therapist told me, "When a woman grows up feeling unseen, she learns to love by overgiving. She pours into everyone else, hoping that one day someone will finally pour back into her. She becomes the caretaker, the fixer, the one who shows up even when no one shows up for her. And the hardest part? Deep down, she's not trying to be strong. She's just waiting for someone to do for her what she's spent her whole life doing for everyone else."
Most of the time I spend dissociating consists of ruminating disbelief of how the majority of Americans voted in a poo-poo diaper rapist sexist classist cheeto as president.. AGAIN
Do not talk about discernment if you cannot recognise when someone needs compassion more than criticism and correction. There is a time to guide and a time to simply hold space for a person who is hurting. Wisdom knows the difference. And kindness knows it even faster.
Curiosity is stronger than love.
A reporter asked him, “How so?”
“I’m 94 years old, and I got married at 23.
But at 46, my wife left me.
She told me that she had become invisible now…
that I was working too much and I wasn’t paying enough attention to her anymore.
I told her that it wasn’t possible, that I loved her more than everything, and it was true but…
that’s when she asked me:
do you know when was the last time you came to see me play bridge?
I didn’t know how to answer, and she said…
‘It’s normal. You never came.’
And she left.
So I made a decision…
In the months that followed, I signed up for bridge lessons and…
I learned how to play, I practiced, I researched, and one day…
I saw there was going to be a tournament near our home. So I signed up and…
She was in the other team. I was seeing her for the first time in nearly a year…
Of course, she beat me.
But I saw a feeling in her eyes that I hadn’t seen for a long time.
Gratitude.
So at the end, I went to see her and I told her…
‘If you agree to give me a second chance, I’ll never miss any of your competitions again.’
I kept my word.
She passed away 8 years ago but…
She taught me the most precious of the lessons:
“Love isn’t enough, you have to know how to show it.”
july, cleanse my intentions in light. remove anything that blocks me from seeing myself, the layers i’ve outgrown, the noise i’ve mistaken for direction and the versions of me that were only meant to be temporary. make room for the parts of me that don’t need permission to exist.
