This goofy looking thing is a Leptocephalus, specifically, the larvae of eels and other elopomorph fishes. Leprocephali are unusual in several ways. 1) they grow very large; 2) they lack red blood cells; 3) they have ephemeral fang like teeth; 4) they feed on detritus
