It's time to accept that mass tourism is a major contribution to climate change and the social environment. The centre of Edinburgh is now a tacky Disneyland and communities are hollowed out by conversion of many homes to #airbnb.

This is a symptom of what has gone wrong with #edfringe and what has gone wrong with tourism in general. Edinburgh - like Venice and Barcelona and other destinations - is now geared more for tourists than residents with profits frequently made by those who do not live here.
