Today, I thanked Estonia for its consistent support for Ukraine across all dimensions, including support for our energy sector last winter.

During the Three Seas Initiative Summit, I had the opportunity to exchange views on Ukrainian-Estonian cooperation with Lauri Hussar, President of the Riigikogu of the Republic of Estonia.

The Estonian Parliament was among the first to ratify the Enlarged Partial Agreement establishing the Management Committee of the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine. They later also ratified the Convention establishing the International Compensation Commission to examine claims for compensation for damage caused to Ukraine by Russia’s aggression.

We are grateful to our Estonian partners for their principled position and solidarity with Ukraine in ensuring justice for our people and accountability for the aggressor.

Ukraine has made strong progress in its EU accession talks. Opening the final negotiation chapters is a significant achievement, reflecting its commitment to reforms, democratic values, and a European future. This determination inspires all of Europe.

Ukraine has received the EU accession benchmarks for the final three negotiating clusters – “Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth,” “Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity,” and “Resources, Agriculture and Cohesion Policy” – completing the full set of requirements for membership!

Earlier, in December, Ukraine was provided with benchmarks for three other clusters: “Fundamentals,” “Internal Market,” and “External Relations.”

This marks a major milestone in Ukraine’s European integration. The next steps are the successful closure of all clusters and the signing of the Accession Treaty – the final stage toward full EU membership.

🇺🇦🤝🇪🇪 Estonia with Ukraine!

The Parliament of Estonia has ratified the convention establishing the International Claims Commission for Ukraine.

This is yet another important step toward justice and holding Russia accountable for its aggression and the colossal losses and destruction inflicted on Ukraine.

Earlier, the Parliament of Estonia also became the first in Europe to ratify the agreement on joining the Steering Committee that launches the activities of the Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression of Russia against Ukraine.

I am grateful to the Speaker of the Riigikogu @LauriHussar, with whom we recently had a meeting in Tallinn and to all the MPs of the Estonian Parliament for these important decisions for justice. Thank you for your leadership and for setting an example to other European countries.
