Twenty-five years ago, a woman stood in the hole an airliner had punched through the North Tower and waved for a hundred minutes.

She is in dozens of photographs and several video clips. People have been arguing about her for a quarter century. Her name, almost certainly, was Edna Cintrón.

She was 46. She worked as an assistant billing administrator at Marsh & McLennan, on the 97th floor.

Flight 11 hit that building at 8:46 and tore open floors 93 through 99. It went through her company. Marsh lost 295 employees and 63 consultants that morning, more than any other firm in the North Tower.

Minutes after the impact, people on the street and photographers on rooftops started noticing movement in the gash itself. A woman had made it to the torn edge of the floor slab, where the aluminum had peeled the wall open and there was outside air. She was leaning against a piece of the ruined exterior column, and she was waving her right arm.

She kept doing it.

Here is the part that is hard to sit with. Nobody was coming. All three stairwells in the North Tower were severed at impact. The roof doors were locked and the smoke made a helicopter landing impossible. Not one person at or above the 92nd floor of that building survived, 1,355 people in total, and that was already true at 8:46, before she ever reached the opening.

She had no way of knowing that. So she stood there in the wind, 1,300 feet up, and signaled for help to a city that could see her perfectly and could not reach her.

Witnesses and footage put her still there, still waving, until roughly ten seconds before the tower came down at 10:28.

She was never formally identified. Her remains were never recovered, and the identification rests on video and photographic analysis and on the people who knew her recognizing her. Her husband William believed it was her. They had been through a lot together, including a period without a home, and she had carried him through his drinking.

So the honest way to say it is this. We are nearly certain who she was, and we are completely certain what she did, which was refuse to stop asking for help for a hundred minutes on the worst morning in American history.

Her name was Edna Cintrón.

Why the “Lindsay Clancy was doctor shopping and drug seeking” claim falls apart.

She repeatedly told providers she was worried about becoming addicted to benzodiazepines (especially Ativan) and discussed tapering the opposite of typical drug-seeking behaviour.

She frequently asked to change or stop medications because of side effects (feeling “zombie-like,” dissociated, worse intrusive thoughts) rather than insisting on keeping a preferred drug.

Pill counts showed she took only a fraction of several prescriptions, leaving many pills unused inconsistent with someone depleting supplies early to seek more.

She actively sought help for severe symptoms through ERs, crisis lines, a locked psychiatric unit, and multiple outpatient providers, which looks like escalating distress rather than primarily chasing controlled substances.

Most medication changes were driven by her reported side effects and providers’ responses, not by her demanding a specific desirable agent while downplaying problems.

A large portion of the prescriptions were antidepressants (SSRIs such as Zoloft and Prozac), which have negligible recreational abuse potential and are rarely targets of classic drug-seeking.

People are taking something they hear and jumping on the bandwagon and repeating it without knowing what they are talking about or doing even the slightest research on it.

Pruebas queremos que nos de la @PROFEPA_Mx de que Kenzo, el tigre de bengala iba a atacar a un veterinario.

La muerte de este animal silvestre es un asesinato vil, que exhibe que las autoridades no están capacitadas para el manejo de un felino que sufrió reclusión, persecución y que hoy está muerto por los disparos de policías.

La justificación que da la Profepa no es creíble, hay declaraciones de una médico veterinaria y de la presidenta municipal de Tepetlaoxtoc, aseguraron que Kenzo estaba sedado y vivo cuando se lo llevaron.

Como nunca, las distintas especies de animales, domésticas, de granja o silvestres, han sufrido de maltrato: secuestro de perros y gatos, asesinato de miles de animalitos en Tecamac, leones y tigres drogados por explotadores, jirafa regalada a una senadora, monos zarandeado por funcionaria morenista y ahora Kenzo muerto por policías.

No Mariana, no creo la versión y no basta con clausurar un espacio clandestino, ni acusar al felino de querer atacar a uno de tus veterinarios, ¿dónde está la evidencia?

El felino fue localizado y capturado tras cinco días de búsqueda en la zona cerril del municipio de Tepetlaoxtoc, Edomex. La Procuraduría Federal de Protección al Ambiente (Profepa) informó el aseguramiento de Kenzo, a quien atenderían médicamente por heridas menores y que sería trasladado al Zoológico de Zacango. No obstante, fuentes informaron que el tigre blanco murió durante el operativo.

Al respecto, la asociación de zoológicos señaló que este caso evidencia las graves deficiencias en que la autoridad ambiental está conduciendo los operativos de rescate de fauna silvestre en el país. Los veterinarios a cargo del operativo fueron Ivonne Casaigne y Fernando Marin. La Asociación de Zoológicos los acusa de no contar con certificación del Consejo Nacional de Certificación en Medicina Veterinaria y Zootecnia A.C. para esta especialidad.

“Es penoso ver cómo la Profepa se presta a montajes porque ese animal estaba ya caído cuando sale un video diciendo que estaba bien e iban en traslado”, lamentó Ernesto Zazueta, presidente de la Asociación.

Autoridades de Delfina Gómez y Guardia Nacional eran las únicas con armas de fuego en el operativo

Murió un tigre tras haber recibido un disparo con arma de fuego y sedación en el Estado de México.

Supuestamente el animal al tratar de huir intentó atacar a uno de los presentes, por lo que le dispararon para “neutralizar el riesgo”.

Kenzo fue buscado durante cinco días después de escapar de un recinto privado en Tepetlaoxtoc, movilizó durante cinco días a autoridades municipales, estatales y federales, obligó a suspender clases en comunidades cercanas.

85 personas participaron en el operativo, más agentes caninos que localizaron y rodearon al tigre.

¿Quién disparó?

En ese despliegue las únicas corporaciones que legalmente portaban armas de fuego eran las autoridades del Estado de México, bajo el gobierno de Delfina Gómez, y la Guardia Nacional.

¿Para qué llevaron expertos en control animal sí un agente que no está capacitado para el manejo de fauna decidió contener con un balazo?

No hubo ataque y no se reportan heridos.

Kenzo durante los cinco días que estuvo suelto ni siquiera cazó animales para alimentarse.

Si PROFEPA convocó especialistas en grandes felinos, ¿por qué el operativo terminó con decenas de personas y un disparo de arma de fuego?

Un rescate de fauna silvestre no debería convertirse en una operación donde cualquiera interviene mientras la vida del animal y de las personas depende de decisiones tomadas en segundos.

Mariana Boy debe explicar quién dirigía técnicamente el operativo, quién autorizó que tantas personas participaran en la fase de captura.

Cuál era la función específica de cada institución y por qué el desenlace fue que mataron al tigre que debían rescatar.
