only 22% of U.S. adults use twitter – and 80% of tweets come from 10% of those users.
so... 2.2% of U.S. adults are responsible for 80% of tweets.

In the new Reuters 2026 News survey, social media has eclipsed traditional TV and news websites as the top source for news in America
It’s funny bc I tend to think of my twitter posts as shaggy dress rehearsals for my essays and podcasts — which are not only where I flesh out all my thinking, but also how I earn a living — but from an audience- information perspective, it might be the other way around: I write articles and make podcasts to give myself time to post, and the vast majority of my followers get my analysis from my posts, which collectively serve as the iceberg cap that is often the only thing most people see of my work
A So. Fla "news" site is exposed for nonexistent journalists producing AI-generated content.
It was wild.
Really, though, it's just the latest "news" scam in a state full of them, many promoting paid political propaganda.

“It shows a different way campaigns can work with creators,” Espina says. “Most treat creators as mouthpieces, like saying ‘This is the message, amplify it,’ with not much back and forth. [With Talarico] it’s both ways.

From Joe Rogan to Colbert, @jamestalarico’s campaign has done as good a job managing a candidate rollout as I ever remember. There was more organic demand for Beto at first but Talarico’s media seems to be earned, and it counters @JasmineForUS Crockett’s well-deserved TV fame. #txsen
“Research has consistently shown that outrage gets rewarded disproportionately on social platforms. It draws attention and drives engagement, and over time everyone gets conditioned to learn the same lesson. Platforms, advertisers, creators, and users. Anger pays best.”
The Rage Machine: Anger feels righteous. It's viral. It wins elections. But it's also burning us out and turning neighbors into enemies.
