The alleged ISIS-inspired plot to attack the New York State Capitol and kill elected officials and others is deeply alarming. I am grateful to our federal and state law enforcement authorities for their vigilance and work to keep New Yorkers safe.

There is no place for terrorism or political violence, in our city, our state or anywhere in our country. I am relieved that Governor Hochul, state lawmakers and Capitol staff are safe, and I am grateful to the law enforcement officers who work every day to protect them and all those they serve.
