I noticed something after watching clips from the Luli Concert.

Why do white-garment churches in Nigeria seem to produce so many musically and artistically gifted people? Most of the white garments church members I know sing really well.

Singers. Instrumentalists. Composers. Performers. Creatives generally.

Is it because music and the arts are such a central part of worship that people start developing these gifts from childhood? Is there something about the environment that gives people more room to experiment and perform?

People who grew up in Celestial/C&S churches, I’m genuinely curious: is this a real thing or just my perception?

What happens inside these churches that the rest of us don’t see?

Reminds me of when I just got married, I spilled hot oil and had some scars which I was trying to hide. My boss Adaora (bless her heart) took me to a private room to probe the scars. I had to provide solid facts to prove it was just hot oil. Women dey!

This woman saw the burn scars on my arm inside a Keke. She immediately held my hand and asked if I was fine. I told her yes (at first, I didn’t even realize she was referring to the scars) until she pointed at them and the already healed skin. I had to explain that it was from hot semo and a cylinder burn, it took a lot of convincing before she believed me.
