BREAKING: UK telecom regulator Ofcom confirms Starlink is a viable broadband alternative under the UK’s 10 Mbps Broadband USO rules. 🇬🇧

• Ofcom confirmed this directly to UK broadband publication ISPreview.

• This means that if affordable Starlink service is available at a property, it may no longer qualify for a USO connection from BT or KCOM.

• Some applicants have already been refused a USO connection because Starlink was available.

• Back in May, Ofcom said cheaper Starlink plans helped reduce the number of premises without affordable decent broadband to around 4,000.

This is good news for Starlink, giving it stronger recognition from the UK regulator as a real broadband solution for remote and underserved areas.
