@wettvr As a last little trick, if you're on windows, there's a neat tool called the sandbox, you can look up how to enable it, but it gives you a place you can interact with suspicious stuff safely. Remember not to log into any accounts in the sandbox as an absolute rule !
@wettvr Beware of anything trying to stir up a sense of urgency. "we wanna close this deal fast" or "we have a deadline in 48h" should be red flags. Don't let anyone make you feel like you have to bypass due diligence or go outside your comfort zone. You are in control and set the terms.
@wettvr You can also put any attachments or files in there, and it will check if they are clean for you. Don't give out personal information.
If they have a website, paste that in there too. if all comes out clean, look them up on google, see what experience others had
@wettvr That tool uses a *lot* of information sources, including community reputation and other OSINT metrics to determine if something is dangerous or not, and acts as a good first barrier. Look for things like the registration date. less than two years ? Not reputable yet.
