In theory, oil inventories shud be negatively correlated to time spreads. Left graph (from my book) confirms it, but recently these correlations became positive !!! (right) with spreads not doing anything despite empty Cushing, highlighting the dominance of other factors.

Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, secretary-general of the Gulf Cooperation Council, said any comprehensive agreement with the Islamic Republic must address not only its nuclear program but also its ballistic missile program and the activities of its regional proxy groups.
He also pointed to the possible consequences of any closure of the Strait of Hormuz, saying it would have a direct impact on Europe’s energy security and vital sectors, including aviation, and stressed the importance of closer cooperation with Europe on energy supply security.

Noting the UAE faced more attacks by Iran than any other country, Al Hashimy said, “It’s very clear that [Iran] has chosen to go down this path because we’re everything that they’re not. We are a model of economic prosperity…we have religions & cultures from around the world."
Global repricing in rates! Belly smashed everywhere! Other central banks were already at or below neutral, so it makes more sense! For the US, it seems like the neutral is being repriced higher, despite what the administration wants!!
The great slowdown: Germany at a standstill as ‘China shock’ hits
As Europe’s biggest economy is pummelled by structural problems and external threats, rocky China ties are compounding the dreary picture
My report from a rather depressing week in Berlin

Missed this big news last week:
A bid for a stake in Germany's gas network collapsed because the bidder (Italian energy firm Snam) is 1/3-owned by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, an Italian investment vehicle, which is 35% owned by State Grid Corp. of China

Yuyuantantian, a media outlet affiliated with China’s state broadcaster, just published an article offering Beijing’s perspective on the Trump-Xi call that took place yesterday.
The piece sheds light on President Xi’s remark during the call: “The US side should acknowledge the progress already made, and remove the negative measures taken against China.”
According to the article, this statement signals a clear demand from Beijing: that Washington should begin rolling back its negative measures — including Section 301 tariffs, Section 232 tariffs, fentanyl-related tariffs, and a broad range of non-tariff barriers.
Beijing is essentially asking the US to remove all tariffs, including those imposed under Trump 1.0, in future trade negotiations.
It seems the Chinese leadership has taken a page from President Trump’s own playbook — starting negotiations by asking for the moon. They've learned the art of the deal, indeed.
