Despite a big rally after the FOMC rate hike, $SPX remains in a downtrend. The major support in the 7560 area is crucial as an inflection point.

$SPX is sitting on support near 7580, while $VIX continues to yawn. As long as support holds, there’s no confirmed breakdown. A meaningful break below 7580, such as a 2-day close, would change that. Until then, we’ll trade the confirmed signals.
$SPX remains in a short-term downtrend, but support has held at 7600. The bulls can still control this market, but they are running out of time.

After having once again tested the 7600 level, $SPX is back in “rally mode.” The market internals are still very mixed, while $VIX indicators remain positive.

$SPX seems to have lost its upside momentum. While its chart is still positive, internal indicators have become murky, but $VIX remains positive for stocks.

New 52-week Lows on the NYSE topped 100 for the second straight day, and exceeded New Highs both days.
That stops out our long position and reverses the indicator to a sell signal.
With $SPX near all-time highs, seeing New Lows expand this quickly is not a good sign.
$VIX is trending lower just as its historically strongest seasonal period begins. Which signal should investors trust?
