Tomorrow is my last day at work.

Because I resigned without a plan. 😱

For ~10 years, I’ve been a lawyer.

From litigation to going in-house where I’d fly to Lebanon or Singapore, and work on everything from NDAs to O&Ms, PPAs, tripartite agreements & board resolutions.

When Dato Sri @IdrisJala_ became the Managing Director of @Shell Sri Lanka, he wasn’t expecting to hold the country on ransom.

The Sri Lanka unit had already experienced 27 years of continuous losses when he took over.

3️⃣ There’s no future.

Venice is a tourist city.

Take away the tourists, and theres not much left.

No startup scene. No industrial hub. No artistic enclave.

Why would anyone move here? 😅

Venice is dying.

It’s gorgeous, of course. With plenty to spend your 💵 on.

But it’s also frozen in time.

1️⃣ Its trades are highly specialised & not scalable.

The gondoliers inherit their licenses.

Same with the Murano glassmakers who specialise in just one type of style.

2️⃣ There’s no differentiation.

I was stumped when looking for the best gelato / pasta dish 🍝.

None stood out.

Then I found out why.

Because we’ve been having at least 1 gelato a day (oops 🤫), eg Gelatoteca Susu, and everything tasted good.

BUT also the same.

I started STIMY because I wanted to meet more new & interesting people.

Somehow, that wish came true!

We just had the 3rd STIMY Hangout, and ~50 people came 😱

Who knows what the 4th STIMY Hangout will be like?!

Last weekend, almost ~50 people gathered in Kuala Lumpur (attendees came from Singapore too!) for the 3rd STIMY Hangout.

Hung out for 4+ hours (+ dinner!)

And it wasn't enough 😅
