And yeah, I know she has her reasons for hiding it (I read the first book) but it's the concept of the thing I can't get past, it just pains me too much to see characters being sick and having the perfect cure for their illness at hand, just for the plot going "nah"

I want to read the prison healer trilogy so bad but at the same time I'm extremely disturbed by the fact that despite Kiva having healing abilities she just lets everyone around her die from illness
