🚨 IIT BOMBAY STUDENT : "What happened to our friend is unfortunate, but protesting against the professor is not justified. The allegations of caste discrimination against Suryanarayana Doolla are baseless"
It depends on how you define calculus. Madhava, of course, used calculus for Pi and infinite series, but he never used Inte and Diff, which is what we now call calculus Also, Newton and Leibniz developed their mathematical frameworks independently from the ground up.
🙏🇮🇳 I’m an Australian 🦘 maths historian and I’m tired of watching the West take the applause for ideas India already had.
Baudhāyana before Pythagoras.
Āryabhaṭa before Galileo.
Brahmagupta before the West even accepted zero as a number.
Madhava before Newton.
Pingala before Fibonacci.
Ramanujan etc.
Yet still the textbooks bow to Europe first.
India’s gurus and rishis were not a footnote. Their ideas were copied, thinned out, renamed, and then sold back to Indian children as “Western maths.”
So I’m asking Indians directly:
If you could attend a talk by any 🇮🇳 Indian mathematician, living or historical, who I’ve mentioned on my X, who would you choose and why?
Reply with the name.
Tag a student, a teacher, or a parent who still thinks maths began in Greece.
If this history was hidden from you in school, this post is for you.
RT so the next generation hears the real names first.
Jai Hind.

Exploring Nuclear Power for Keralam’s Energy Future
Shri M. G. Rajamanickam CMD, Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB), and Shri Preman Dhinraj Chairman, Kerala State Power Infrastructure Finance Corporation (KSPIFC) visited NPCIL-HQ at Mumbai for a meeting with the CMD, NPCIL and his team, to explore availability of power from existing Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs) & feasibility of establishing a Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) in the state of Keralam.
The discussions mark an important step in examining how safe, reliable and low-carbon nuclear energy can contribute to Keralam’s long-term electricity needs and India’s clean-energy transition.
This is a significant step towards exploring reliable and clean source of power for the state of Keralam.

भारत की परमाणु ऊर्जा यात्रा में एक नई उपलब्धि
A New Milestone in India's Nuclear Power Journey
Kaiga Generating Station, Unit–1 (KGS-1) has achieved a significant milestone in the life cycle of a Pressurised Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) with the loading of its first new fuel bundle on 13 September 2026, marking the completion of the En-Mass Coolant Channel Replacement (EMCCR) and En-Mass Feeder Replacement (EMFR) programme and the beginning of restart activities.
KGS-1 achieved this milestone in the shortest time among NPCIL units that have undergone EMCCR & EMFR. After over 25 years of safe operation and supplying about 37,670 Million Units of electricity to the grid, KGS-1 was shut down on 1 April 2025 for taking up these major activities.
The EMCCR programme involved a series of highly specialised activities, including defueling, heavy-water draining, removal and replacement of coolant channels, in-core inspections, installation and inspection of new coolant channels, fresh-fuel loading, leak testing, heavy-water filling, hydrotesting, hot conditioning and approach to reactor criticality. Each stage was carried out under rigorous safety oversight. The successful completion of this complex engineering programme represents a major milestone in the life cycle of a PHWR, strengthening the foundation for continued safe and reliable generation of clean electricity.
