$SBUX taking over $CMG would be a bit ironic. Niccol left in August, 2024 to chart Starbuck's turnaround.

When he left Chipotle, it was growing in the double digits, but growth has slowed. The stock has fallen nearly 40% since his departure. I'm usually against these sort of takeovers, but it's clear Niccol is a special talent and could run Chipotle in his sleep.

I think testing the software and hardware to improve it and ensure everything is flawless for the 20th anniversary, also makes sense. I’m not saying they are doing that, but having the iPhone in millions of hands gives a lot of data on how to improve it, useful if they are preparing something even bigger for that anniversary.
