Proud to have the national endorsement of @demsocialists. Together, we’re going to organize for public power, reproductive rights, universal healthcare, and worker power in the workplace.
DSA endorses Layla Taha for State Representative in Michigan House District 25. Layla prioritizes people over profit. She is fighting for public power in Michigan, for expanding worker power through union solidarity, for reproductive rights and for healthcare as a human right.

"I will never stop fighting to protect our reproductive freedoms and I will continue to support legislation and policies that will protect safe and legal abortions for all."

We're thrilled to endorse Layla Taha for Michigan HD-25, a critical seat.
I was honored to address my fellow members of @detroitdsa at our annual chapter convention in June. Together, we’re building independent political power by electing working class folks to be organizers-in-office and build our movement to take on the bosses and billionaires.
Thank you to all the volunteers that came out to Westland last weekend to knock doors! Voters were pumped to hear about our plan to organize against greedy corporations like DTE and take back control of our utilities.

Happy May Day! When workers in Detroit went on strike I joined the line in solidarity. Now I’m running to carry on their struggle to build an economy, society, and government both by and for the working class.
I refuse to accept corporate donations from companies like DTE because our elected officials must be beholden to the people. We need a Lansing that works for all of us, and I need your help to make that happen. If you have the means, please donate today: https://t.co/zc1iMBVXBE
(🧵) I’m running to be the next State Rep of MI’s 25th House District. I started this journey 6 months ago to fight for working families and ensure our voices are heard. I’m continuing that fight because we deserve elected reps who won’t cave to the corporate interests in Lansing
That means having a representative who will work to secure affordable healthcare and livable wages for working families and somebody who won’t back down from extremists who want to dismantle our rights to abortion and bodily autonomy.
We may not have won, but I’m so grateful to my volunteers and voters. Thank you to everyone who knocked, called, texted, and donated, especially to the 24 who covered every poll on Election Day – in a blizzard! We built a real people-powered movement and I couldn’t be prouder.
I voted this morning! Make your voice heard and vote today! You can find your polling location at https://t.co/cgC6FHa51i. The snow should let up by 3pm and allow time for the roads to clear up, so make a plan to vote after work! You must be in line by 8pm for your vote to count.
Thank you to these incredible volunteers who knocked doors with us today! 1,000 doors this weekend and we’re still not done. Remember to vote this Tuesday, 7am-8pm! You can find your polling location at https://t.co/cgC6FH9xbK.
Huge shoutout to these amazing volunteers who came out and knocked doors with us today (especially our comrades from @ChicagoDSA)! 💪 #peoplepowered#grassroots
I’m honored to have the support of @OurRevMichigan! They are fighting for a more inclusive Michigan Democratic Party that includes elected officials who will stand up for progressive values.
