You don't need to believe the world will get better to feel better. You just need to build a life that has meaning for you, even if the world is chaotic.
People have lived through worse times than this and were still happy, had families, created things and loved deeply.
Peace won’t come from the world being okay. It will come from your inner world being stable and meaningful regardless of the world.
you can't escape larping. to be you is to larp what it's like to be you. nothing personal. genuinely pretending is when you get carried away playing your character as first person phenomenology.
I’m a LARPer that’s why I’m going to win and live a magic romantic life
You know who else larped?
Napoleon LARPed as Caesar
Caesar LARPed as Alexander the Great
Alexander LARPed as Hercules
Roman von Ungern-Sternberg LARPed so hard he became a Mongolian warlord
People whose brains do not oxidize glucose well tend to be overly serious. I noticed this about myself as I begin to eat more fruit as well as when I took thiamine for the first time. I regained my ability to engage in wordplay, my ability to be amused by things that once annoyed me, my ability to understand sarcasm, and my ability to move quickly past difficulties. A brain with excess energy notices opportunities to perceive abundance that other brains miss!
Many “personality” issues are metabolic issues in disguise!!
Is Hebbian learning "universal"? In this recent ICML work with @David_Koplow and Tomaso Poggio, we showed that many learning algorithms look like Hebbian learning when regularized and look like anti-Hebbian learning when noisified. This could imply many different ways to interpret the learning process of biological brains.

Sometimes I look out over a body of water and think about pixel shaders — superimposed waveforms, fresnel effects, intra-pixel maximum finding and analytical anti-aliasing. In the age of gen-AI rendering, this is like the old mechanics working on WW2 era piston planes. A craft of a prior era.
@xlr8harder@doomslide so like Bitcoin's PoW, but instead of endless simple calculations, the market pays to resolve unsolved conjectures? who's building this?
but how one can price an open conjecture?
